Cross Curricular Programs

Plumpton House School offer students a number of unique, cross curricular experiences that enhance student learning beyond the classroom walls. These activities are a place for students to develop both educational and social skills that see increased engagement and positive interactions with peers. In addition, a number of programs are run internally and externally that provide students with work readiness training that facilitate smooth transitions into the workforce and develop skills for future employment.

These activities include lessons without walls, interschool sport, sailing, sports coaching sessions, barrister training, work experience and much more.

Lessons Without Walls

Lessons Without Walls offers students the opportunity to learn outside of the normal classroom context and extend their learning experiences in the community while gaining  experiences in unique locations. This example saw Class 5 travel to the Three Sisters Katoomba, to visit local Indigenous sites researched and chosen by the students.

Sailability

Students at Plumpton House School undertook sailing lessons at Penrith Lakes. This program gave students the skills and confidence to sail independantly in their own boats.

Barrister Training

Students have the opportunity to gain Barrister level training on site in our kitchens and off site selling to the public once reaching a compitent level.

Work Experience & TAFE

Students have the opportunity to participate in a number of work experience programs that enhance skills for the workforce and employability.

Cooking and Hospitality 

Students are offered a number of opportunities to build a love of cooking and prepare themselves for the future through various in class and targeted mentoring lessons.
