Plumpton House School was established as one of the government's initiatives to address violence in schools. The school's first intake of students was in Term 2, 1998. Plumpton House School provides an alternative educational environment. It caters for the academic, social and behavioural needs of students in Years 5 to 10 with severe behaviour problems. The school has a maximum capacity of 42 students. Enrolment in our school is overseen by student services through an access request process initiated by the mainstream school in consulation with parents and carers and the availability of vacancies.
The emphasis is on transition into the next environment (e.g. mainstream school, TAFE, employment). Plumpton House School is a cross district option and currently caters for students from Blacktown, Fairfield, Granville, Mount Druitt, Parramatta and Penrith.
From the beginning of 2013, Plumpton House School took over the running of the Mt Druitt Tutorial Centre which is a regional resource catering for the behavioural and emotional needs of students in years 7 to 12.
Mt Druitt Tutorial Centre has a maximum enrolment capacity of 21 and is a co- educational campus.
